Fundraising FAQs
Q. Why do CSPN and Campus School seem to have so many fundraisers?
A. While the Campus School is part of the Memphis City School system, it is also affiliated with the University of Memphis, School of Education, as a training school. The U of M establishes and pays our teachers salaries, and the rest of our funding comes from the Memphis City School system. Because we are such a high-performing school, and the majority of our families are not in the lower income brackets, we do not receive the additional Tennessee funding that most of the Memphis schools receive. Therefore, we experience a shortfall in our budget every year. In order to meet the needs of Campus School for school supplies, office supplies, office equipment, furniture, technology, etc, we have several fundraisers a year. We also raise incidental money through a number of community-building events, where the primary purpose is to provide an entertainment or service.
We raise money by participating in several corporate donation programs. Additionally, we collect money several times a year for charities.
Q. What are the fundraising categories, and how much money do they make?

Q. How do we spend the money?
A. Last year, we established and began funding a long-term Education Growth Plan that includes technology replacement, educational materials and items to create a quality environment. Last year, we purchased four computers, art tables, and musical instruments; and paid for a teacher training course, copy machine expenses, teacher supply expenses and a student lunch money emergency fund.
Q. How can I help?
A. Give generously to the CSPN Support Drive. Participate in any or all of the fundraisers and events that you can. Also, you can help every day by participating in the Corporate Donations Programs outlined above.
