SAC Board Meeting Minutes April 8, 2004

In attendance: Jennifer Sammons, Talana Vogel, Mary Honey, Lee Meyers, Michael Johnson and Jilda Bulwork.

Spring Fling
Plans for Spring Fling were discussed in detail. Michael Johnson has preparations well underway for the April 23 event. He is actively seeking donations of food, prizes and games, but will need some funding for special items such as the DJ (Glenn Miller, $250) and the large inflatables ($525). Mary Honey will call Mary Prince to see if she’ll be the concessions chair as she was last year. Volunteers are also needed for set up, game concessions, break down and special operations. Tickets will be pre-sold beginning Monday, April 19 and will continue every day that week. Jennifer and Kim will handle ticket sales.

Golf Tournament
Jack Sammons has finalized arrangements for this event, scheduled for April 16. Donations of silent auction and door prize items are still needed.

Clothing Sale
This event is still on schedule for April 17. Mary Honey will sort through the clothing donated by Campus parents and will deliver them to Lipman Clothing Sale chair Julie Calkins. Volunteers are needed to help rack and tag the clothes on Friday evening, April 16.

Uniform Swap or Sale
Jilda Bulwork attended to share her idea for a uniform swap or sale. The group then brainstormed various ways to structure this event. One idea is to maximize attendance by scheduling it for a time when parents will be at Campus for something else, such as the end of the year awards ceremony. Uniforms would be organized by size and sold for a nominal amount. If the sale is held on the morning of the awards ceremony, clothing would need to be brought in by May 17, and a flyer would need to go out a week or so prior. The sale would then be scheduled for 7:30 to 10:30 on May 21.

The next board meeting is scheduled for May 14.
