SAC Board Meeting Minutes November 10, 2004
In attendance: Melissa Pearce, Rebecca Scott, Lee Meyers, Amy Mulroy, Deanna Showli
SAC Membership Drive: Membership funds have still not reached the goal, so the membership drive has been extended to November 19. Only one class, Mrs. Thomson’s has reached 100% membership. Mary Honey has sent another reminder home. Room parents will be encouraged to call those who have not made a membership contribution to encourage them to do so.
Hat Day: Susan Copeland and the teachers like the idea of a monthly “Hat Day” when students can pay $1 for the privilege of wearing a hat to school. Consideration was given to doing this on the last Friday of each month. A flier will be distributed prior to the first hat day.
Fall Festival: This even was a huge success. The total net funds raised was more than last year and exceeded our goal. Revenues broke down as follows:
Food: $696.50
Baskets: $1,372
Games: $2,111.50
Many people asked about the winning bid amounts for each basket. A list is attached.
Skate Night: The first Skate Night of the year is scheduled for Nov 18. Donna Walker reported to Mary Honey that she is ready.
Holiday Fair: Kea Haynes has begun work on this event which is scheduled for December 13 – 17. A large number of volunteers will be needed.
Cookie Dough Update: Amy reported that she and Jennifer are ready to go. Orders will be due on November 18 and then the order will be placed with the vendor on November 22. Cookies can be picked up in the playroom on December 9.
Homecoming: Melissa is working on this event for Campus alumni. Details are still in development, but it will probably be held in May. A list of alums is being prepared so that invitations can be sent out for a reception and tours. The ultimate goal is to reconnect alumni with Campus to secure their support.
Update on Milton Craft: Lee has been unable to reach Milton to check on the status of the website and Tiger Tracks. She’ll keep trying and will report back at the next meeting.
The next SAC Board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 8.
