CSPN Board Meeting   April 19, 2006

In Attendance: The meeting was called to order at 1:31 p.m. with Melissa Pearce, Amy Mulroy, Mary O’Kelly, Dr. Susan Copeland and Claudia Lakey.

Minutes: Secretary Lee Meyers was unable to attend the rescheduled board meeting, so minutes of the March board meeting will be distributed, reviewed and approved by email.

Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer Mary O’Kelly reported that CSPN has achieved a net income from all fundraising this year of $21,321, including the recently posted Book Fair proceeds of $2219, net of expenses. It was agreed that Mary would present a bar chart at the upcoming Parents Meeting that shows funds raised for each CSPN event. She will also present a list of CSPN purchases and planned expenditures.

CSPN Board for 2006-07: Three board positions are set for the upcoming school year: President – Amy Mulroy, Treasurer – Mary O’Kelly and Secretary – Lee Meyers. Two positions remain to be filled: Vice President and Assistant Treasurer. A letter will go out asking parents to consider volunteering for these positions.

Overdraft Policy: A discussion was held about how to recoup funds in the event of an overdraft on checks made out to CSPN. Susan will look into the Memphis City Schools policy.

Retro Prom: This event was well attended and netted $450. Plans are underway to hold the event again next year.

Technology Update: Office Depot has several more programs we qualify for. Between our own account and the City School discount, our percentage for each purchase is 7%. More information will be forthcoming on additional programs that will help us with our technology updates and our Educational Growth Plan.

Spring Fling: Claudia Lakey provided a cost sheet for this event and discussed rain date plans.

Yearbook: The yearbook is on track for distribution the week before the last week of school. More photos are needed. These should be emailed to ainman@memphis.edu.

Adopt-A-Book: Thirty books have been purchased for the library so far this year, thanks to this program.

CiCi’s Pizza Night: This event will be held as planned on April 20. Due to the popularity of CiCi’s Pizza Nights, the board agreed to hold one during the summer months.

Art Show: The Art Show and Reception will also be held on April 20.

Skate Night: Pam Rose and Carmen Wilson have agreed to be co-chairs for next year and they will set up dates shortly, including a summer Skate Night.

Adjournment: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:30 p.m. The next CSPN Board Meeting is scheduled for May 10 at 1
